After Mingming saw so many world renowned scientists in the field at that conference, she dreamt to become a top scientist one day. She gathered the required books that she needed to study for the examination of admission for PhD. But finally she abandoned her dream because she could not part from her little daughter and go away for school. She worked as an Engineer for about 5 years and was named to the position of Director of the electronic ceramic material research center. After a short time, she left her position. This was the time when engineers didn't get paid well and it was a struggle for Mingming to buy her daughter the things that the little girl deserved. Mingming then went to study a fashion design, and opened her own fashion company. She worked very hard and very long hours each day. She did make considerable money at the time, and gave her daughter what she wanted but , as you know, money can't buy everything! That was the time before Mingming came to America to join her husband.
She remembers how astonished she was the first time she saw a watercolor painting that looked just like a photograph. She carefully observed the painting for a long time, trying to determine whether it was a watercolor painting or a photograph.
